The Purposes of Processing: To accurately attribute medical records, to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan, to allow referral to other healthcare professionals, to record payment data for accounting and tax purposes.
Lawful basis of processing: consent, necessary for contract, legal obligation, vital interests, public interests, legitimate interests, preventative/occupational medicine, public health interests, scientific/historical research purposes, defence of legal claims.
Recipients of personal data: GPs and other healthcare professionals, only at the patient’s consent or request.
Retention periods for personal data: Legal obligation to store medical data for a minimum of 8 years. Flourish stores all data indefinitely for the lawful bases stated above.
Rights of the data subject: access, rectification, erasure (in some cases), restriction of processing, portability, objection to processing, to withdraw consent, to lodge a complaint with the ICO.
Data is held securely, within the UK. It is obtained only from the person to whom the data pertains, except in the case of next of kin/emergency contact information or GP information. There is no automated decision making undertaken with this data.
