My interest in pain and its effect on the whole life began when, as a teenager, I started to get migraines. It was a big shock to me just how much they affected every area of my life – time with family, time with friends, even my school work. Migraines run in my family, so after being 'reassured' by my grandmother that they would only last until the menopause (only another 40 years to go!) I resigned myself to taking medication which made me sleepy and withdrawn. It was only after a car accident made my migraines much more frequent that I went to see a chiropractor... and it changed my life. The relief was unbelievable! So I decided that after university I would retrain as a chiropractor and help to change other people's lives too.

I studied at the prestigious AECC and qualified in 2012. I've been a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors since 2012 and a member of their specialist Complex Pain Faculty since 2014. I have also achieved qualifications in Western Medical Acupuncture and Pain Management. Having worked for many years in local clinics in the North-West and the Midlands and treated thousands of patients, I set up my own practice in 2018.

I am married with two young children and when I'm not running around after them you can find me ballroom dancing, playing a board game or at the gym.

I am a former midwife with a passion for health and wellbeing and have 2 children of my own. I am from South Africa and love being in the outdoors.

I trained and worked as a midwife in Edinburgh, married an Englishman and the rest is history!

As a midwife I saw the positive impact and difference for women that exercise and good nutrition made through their whole journey of going through pregnancy, coping in labour and postnatal recovery as well as in my own journey. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally too.

My vision is for women to enjoy exercise that is appropriate for pregnancy and post birth, restoring and strengthening their bodies and very importantly taking care of your core and pelvic floor health. Seeing women significantly reduce and relieve the symptoms that can come with pregnancy and the changes in their bodies.

While pregnant I couldn't find suitable exercise provision for pregnancy or as a new mum. My dream started right there with a goal to provide this for the women I serve and see women flourish, meeting their needs and connecting them in community with one another.

Your body goes through huge changes during pregnancy and postnatally, your body is different, and I want women to embrace that, celebrate that and see it flourish through that. You don't have to 'just deal with it' or 'bounce back'.

I started my journey qualifying to provide exercise and nutrition for pregnant and postnatal mums by qualifying with a Level 3 pre- and postnatal exercise provider certificate, Modern Postnatal Wellness with Burrell Education, circuits instructor certificate, nutrition in pregnancy and postnatal certificate and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, as well as Optimal Nutrition for Postnatal Healing certificate through Burrell Education.

I am a qualified Holistic Core Restore® coach, providing pelvic floor and core recovery and strength programs for women through all life phases. Training provided by Burrell Education, leaders in Women's Wellness. I am qualified as a Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist to provide massage therapy to enhance your recovery too. Massage forms such an integral part of your wellbeing and recovery, releasing tension, getting blood flow, nutrition and hydration to your tissues and improving the movement and function of your body among many other benefits. It is a significant piece in the puzzle. I love seeing the difference it makes to clients' movement, muscle function, exercise progress and overall wellbeing.
